The Bride of CHRIST
The CHRIST Culture Blog | February 9th, 2026 | Rev. Dr. Carole Hulslander
This is the month we send Valentine's cards and flowers and plan wonderful candlelit dinners with our Sweethearts.
It’s the month we reaffirm our marriage covenants and find new ways to say, “I love you.”
There is a miraculous mystery in the covenant of marriage. The marriage between a man and woman is used to make known the love, faithfulness, and the future of CHRIST’s Church, HIS community, HIS body, HIS bride.
Husbands, love your wives just as MESSIAH also loved HIS community and gave HIMSELF up for her to make her holy, having cleansed her by immersion in the Word. MESSIAH did this so that HE might present to HIMSELF HIS glorious community—not having stain or wrinkle or any such thing, but in order that she might be holy and blameless. Ephesians, 5:25-27, TLV.
The husband submits his very life to cleanse his bride, removing any stain or wrinkle. He gives her the Word so he can present her as perfect and beyond reproach. CHRIST has and is doing this for HIS Bride by giving up HIS life, bringing forth revelations of HIS Word, and filling her with HIS HOLY SPIRIT, which transforms her.
There are so many revelations in the marriage covenant that reveal YESHUA’s faithfulness, sacrifice, salvation, and transformation, and those who marry outside this covenant cannot comprehend or benefit from them. Today, many believe they are entering into a contract with the “other” to form a life together, but these contracts fall through, leaving them disappointed and lonely. While the covenant of YESHUA brings forth the real meaning and outcome of marriage within HIS Church, HIS Bride, it is up to us to decide what power we want in our lives. The power of a contract, based on keeping certain agreements with the other, or a covenant that depends on YESHUA and HIS power to keep our covenant in HIS love.
